About the Owner: Christy Mesec

Christy Mesec Shop Owner Snider Plaza Dallas TexasAs a young girl, Christy fell in love with everything fashion related. She grew up in Dayton, Ohio as the third of four girls.  At home is where she began to realize how much she loved clothes and style, especially with having three sisters and her mother around to shop with and to help dress. Some of her fondest memories were going into the city of Cincinnati with my mom to go shopping. Christy attended The Ohio State University in Columbus Ohio, with a BS in Fashion Merchandising.  She also met her future husband, Mark Mesec there. After graduating, Mark went to law school and Christy went straight to the fashion capital of America--New York City!

Christy interned at Bloomingdales which turned into a full time position as an Assistant Buyer for Young East Sider, one of Bloomingdales' contemporary women's clothing departments. Christy remembers that "It was an experience of a lifetime! Something that most girls only dream of."

After Mark finished law school, Christy followed her fiance to Dallas, Texas and switched gears to discover what the wholesale industry of fashion was like.  It was 1982 and the Dallas Apparel Mart was booming.

Christy received a job offer as assistant showroom manager with one of the largest manufacturer's representatives--Jacques de la Marre and Associates. They represented over 80 women's designers and contemporary women's clothing, jewelry, and accessories.

After 5 years in Dallas, Mark and Christy were married and they was ready to settle down and raise a family. Their son Nick was born in 1986, and two and a half years later, their daughter Brittany came along in 1989.

After college, Christy never lost her passion or her dream of owning her own store.  As her youngest child graduated from Highland Park High School, an opportunity fell into her lap, and Christy and Mark purchased the boutique you know and love today, just around the corner from their home, in Snider Plaza.

Christy M. Boutique opened in 2007 and the family-run boutique continues to thrive, with the support of friends, family, and of course, our neighborhood!
